Sudarsan Pattnaik’s Empathising Coronavirus Sand Art Gets Applause on Twitter

Renowned Indian sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik has once again gathered praise for his thought-provoking and inspiring sand art. This time, Pattnaik has morally supported the victims of the fast-spreading new virus through his sand art on coronavirus.


The Padma Shri awardee created his sand art at Puri Beach in Odisha that he shared on his twitter handle. The sand art installation had three masked faces, looking in different directions, with a thoughtful message written below – “Fight against coronavirus, we stand with China”.

The twitter applauded his sand art on coronavirus and his empathy towards the victims. China’s Ambassador to India Sun Weidong and the Director-General of the World Health Organisation Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also appreciated Pattnaik’s work.


People appreciated and thanked Sudarsan for his moral support amidst the coronavirus epidemic that has been declared a ‘global health emergency’ by the World Health Organization.

First diagnosed in December 2019, this virus has infected over 64,000 people and killed over 1,300. The virus has spread from China to more than 20 countries across the world, including the United States.

While the scientists and health care officials are struggling to find more about the virus and find a cure, people worldwide are praying for this danger to pass. Hopefully, soon there will be a treatment for COVID-19 pandemic and lives could be saved.
