Sculptor Selçuk Yılmaz creates a Lion from 4,000 pieces of scrap metal

While we have seen some amazing scrap metal sculptures, including a few in lion form, the shape and awesomeness metal lends to this amazing cat is by far the most sublime we’ve ever seen. The 6-foot-tall and 10 foot long Lion dubbed Aslan (Turkish for Lion) is brainchild of Istanbul-based Turkish sculptor Selcuk Yılmaz. Built out of nearly 4,000 pieces of scrap metal, each hand cut and hammered into shape, the Lion metal sculpture weighs almost 550 pounds (250kg). It has taken Selcuk close to a year to get the metal Lion into shape that’s everything a lion minus the roar.

Proud king of the jungle sculpted in metal mimics everything of the real one from full mane to its sharp teeth. An awesome figurine for your home, the Lion metal sculpture is like a creature from the fairy tale, which will complement your home with grace and ferociousness. There is no word on whether Selcuk will retail his creation, so you may just have to build one yourself, if you want one right away. You can head to Behance for a glance at more work from Selcuk.
