Suqian Grand Canal Resort project is finely in tune with earthly elements

New kind of Grand Canal Resort project has been proposed for the Suqian, Jiangsu Province, China by ASA Architects; which includes five star hotel, apartments, villas, retail outlets and golf course too. Using the Grand Canal as the source for design inspiration, the artificial channel draws water from the canal into the site for the hotel. Taking the design cues from Chinese landscape and the moving water, the hotel will be a true emulation of elements with lower rise buildings curving themselves according to the flow of stream as the countless intersections between water and buildings provide prospect for creating architectural landscapes with contrasting patterns and textures.

The Grand Canal resort is also high on ecological components as this winning project has roof gardens, water harvesting, reed ponds, grey water re-cycling and glazing systems which are very much energy efficient.
