India’s newest airline, Akasa Air, has ditched the cliche heels, pencil skirts, and saris with new comfortable and chic crew uniforms. They have recently unveiled eco-conscious and employee-centric crew uniforms to keep their employees comfortable and happy.

The fabric used for making these sustainable uniforms comes from PET bottle plastic that’s salvaged from marine waste. Moreover, their new crew uniforms feature youthful, comfy, and happy designs in chic orange and black colours. Designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh, the new airlines’ uniforms take the cue from the classic bandh gala. The flight attendants will wear black trousers, sneakers, and a snug jacket on the flight. The material used is stretchy to ensure maximum comfort during different flight schedules. So, the in-flight crew won’t feel uncomfortable while working.

The sneakers for the uniform come from homegrown shoe brand Vanilla Moon. These sneakers are very light on the feet and available with extra cushioning supporting the feet from heel to toe during long hours of walking and standing. Plus, their sole consists of recycled rubber and doesn’t contain any form of plastic.

Akasa Air received the delivery of its first Boeing 737 max aircraft in India on June 21. And, now India’s newest airline is preparing for the commercial launch later this month.
