ISGF to Commence India Smart Utility Week 2020 From March 3

India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) will commence its annual India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) 2020, an international conference and exhibition on smart utilities for smarter cities, from March 3 to 7, 2020.

ISGF has been organising its annual event India Smart Grid Week (ISGW) since 2015, which later was transformed to ISUW in 2019. This event is considered as one of the top five international events in smart grids and smart cities.

The 2020 ISUW will be inaugurated by Sanjiv Nandan Sahay, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Indian government. Over 60 international organisations and think-tanks have already confirmed their support for the event. Experts from more than 40 countries will also be participating in the event.

The event brings together leading policymakers, regulators, investors, top-notch smart energy experts and researchers to discuss trends, future technologies and opportunities in the smart grid and smart city domain. It will include plenaries, keynotes, interactive workshops, high-level roundtables and technical sessions on various topics.

With the launching of around 100 smart city projects by the Indian government, water and city gas distribution utilities will also need to be equipped with the latest technologies for improved operational efficiency and successful integration into the smart city systems.

The conference at the ISUW will cover themes like ‘Towards a net-zero energy power sector – mainstreaming renewables’, ‘Towards a carbon-neutral transport sector’, ‘Technologies enabling energy transition’ and ‘Advanced and disruptive technology trends’ etc.

There will be masterclasses and bilateral workshops on various technologies such as electric smart metering, artificial intelligence, power sensing and controls, electric vehicle policies, EV charging infrastructure, technologies for the energy transition, battery technologies, and other energy storage systems for grid modernisation.

ISUW 2020 will also host a large exhibition of display stalls for different energy-related companies such as smart meters, power distribution automation, gas-insulated substations, geographical information systems, smart homes, home energy management systems, home automation along with others.

In addition, the forum is also hosting ISGF Innovative Awards as part of India Smart Utility Week 2020. These awards recognise organisations, projects and products from utilities and technology companies that have done excellent work in Smart Grid and Smart City Segments.
