World’s Largest and Advanced Plastic Recycling Facility to Open in Macon

Global waste solution company Brightmark announced that it will soon establish the world’s largest advanced plastic recycling and renewal facility in Macon.

The facility is built with an investment of $680 million that will recycle all the plastic waste that has reached the end cycle including items that cannot be further recycled, according to Brightmark.

The company stated the closed-loop solution turns plastic waste into useful products, along with renewable fuels and wax – creating material for new plastic.

The plastic waste suppliers from the post-consumer or industrial processes can also gain from the net profits. Currently, Brightmark has planned to work with waste plastic suppliers throughout the region to secure raw materials and have an open period contract scheduled this year.

The process is claimed to be 93% efficient which means that 93% of the waste processed is transformed into new products. The aim is to reimagine waste while supporting the economic development in the region. Brightmark said that it looks forward to establishing central Georgia as a leader in the circular.
