Elegant origami inspired furniture made entirely from cardboard
Inspired from the Japanese art of origami, American designer James Slack has come up with a new line of furniture made completely from cardboard. Christened “ORI”, the furniture line features a set of folding chairs and table. After designing a ¼ scale structure in paper, the talented designer converted the design to cardboard. The final product produced was more stable and economical.
It was Slack’s curiosity about this ancient and enticing origami technique that brought this trendy furniture to life. Not only are these pieces of furniture unique, elegant and contemporary, but are also incredibly strong, easy to compact and eco friendly. Manufactured under $10, the ORI can hold up to 200 pounds easily.
