Tumbles – Puppy with only two legs gets cute 3D printed wheelchair

Tumbles get 3d printed wheelchair

Pictures and a video showing overwhelmingly cute puppy with only two legs with his new 3D printed wheel-chair have gone viral. It sounds cruel injustice to see that this sweetheart is sent to suffer right from birth. Luckily, human compassion toward animals is still a reality and some people go to any extent to make life easier and happier for such unfortunate animals.

Tumbles, a six-week-old terrier mix, was born with only two legs. A non-profit organization ‘Friends of the Shelter Dogs’ (FOSD) in Athens, Ohio, brought Tumbles to its shelter when he was two-weeks-old. Tumbles was not able to compete for his mother’s milk due to disability, therefore, FOSD board President Angela Marx, decided to provide extra special care and fed him with bottle to ensure healthy growth.

One day, a couple approached FOSD after seeing photo of Tumbles on organisation’s Facebook Page and proposed building a bespoke wheelchair for him to help get around.

The coupled designed the wheelchair and got it 3D printed at the Ohio University Innovation Centre. The shelter has shared a video showing how this wheel-chair is working for Tumbles.

According to Marx, Tumbles is very small and still need time to get along with the wheel-chair. She also added that once the wheelchair is properly fitted, Tumbles will receive a physical therapy. In future, FOSD expects Tumbles to get comfortable with the wheel-chair. Most likely, Tumbles would be adopted by his foster mother, Marx.
